Our Story & Values

Our History

WINCC was established in 2016 to strengthen gender equity in governance and decision making in the cocoa and chocolate sector. It was founded by Beatrice Moulianitaki with Solidaridad and further built through the dedication and leadership of Caroline Lubbers (Chocoa, Equipoise).

As of 2026 WINCC will operate as an independent foundation. The organisation is supported by ambassadors and advisors who share their expertise. Learn more about the team here.

What WINCC does (and what not)

  • Builds leadership capacity for women
Through sector events, peer exchange and the WINCC Mentor Academy.

  • Advocates for visibility of women leaders
By actively connecting female professionals to panels, speaking roles and sector dialogues.

  • Connects peers across the cocoa and chocolate supply chain
Focusing on professionals in producing and consuming countries, across roles and career stages.

Gender equity requires many actors. WINCC focuses on professionals and leadership, partners with peer organisations and companies, and guides you to the right initiatives where needed.

Our Vision

Our goal is to reach at least 40% women in decision-making roles across the cocoa and chocolate sector.

Research shows that 40% marks a tipping point; from this level onwards, women are no longer exceptions, but a structural part of decision-making. This leads to better governance, stronger organisations and more future-proof outcomes. But reaching that is only part of the work. Keeping women in leadership positions matters just as much. WINCC supports long-term inclusion by strengthening leadership, confidence and networks.

More women in the mix brings collaboration, innovation and long-term resilience for the cocoa & chocolate industry.
